Elsmore & Forster produced a simpler (non-aesthetic) version of Lily & Vase in the 1860's, and became Thomas Elsmore in 1872. The diamond registry code was issued in 1878, though the pattern was used for fifteen years before then.
Elsmore began using the word ENGLAND well before the McKinley Tarrif Act of 1890 - probably around 1885. Mesures 17" x 12-1/2" x 1-3/4 high. Marked at the bottom: "PARISIAN GRANITE THOMAS ELSMORE & SONS -ENGLAND" in brown color, along with the Registration Mark and impressed "PG". Oriental pattern tranferware in brown color.Platter is in very good used condition with sign of wear on underside.
